Objects are attached to walls of the four-storey open stairwell in the foyer of the life sciences building of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In form and size the silky-matt black corpora recall the morphology of single- and multi-cellular organisms and bacteria. While many of the objects hang on the ground floor, their number diminishes drastically up to the third. Due to temperature variations—either in the space or through being touched—the smooth surfaces of the amorphous black forms change in color from black to red, green, blue, or combinations of these.
