Several black layers were printed before the foam color was applied to the paper and blow dried. The heat caused the light-colored foam to flake and protrude from the visual surface. The black background is largely overlaid by the irregular white area. So the four works are marked by contrasts of light and dark, black and white, rough and smooth.
