WATERING

  • Table, potato starch, DVD player, video projector, video: 15-minute loop

A 15-minute video loop is projected from the ceiling onto a table covered with potato starch. The short film shows a jet of water aimed at a surface of snow. It gradually thaws a hole, which continually increases in size. Once it is as large as the frame, the flow of water ceases until the snow blanket has completely regenerated. This work combines two physical conditions of the same material—water—which dissolve and make space for one another again.
